Dr. Robert P. Dougherty, President
Affiliate Associate Professor
William E. Boeing Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics
University of Washington
Dr. Dougherty has made leading contributions to the phased array aeroacoustic test technique, including beamforming algorithms, array design, and presentation of results. He has applied this technique to clarify airframe, turbomachinery, and jet noise sources. In addition, he has developed standard computer programs for predicting nacelle acoustic propagation by ray tracing (RDIFF) and the parabolic approximation (cduct); he also has developed concepts for nacelle acoustic design, including nacelle shape and lining placement.
Dr. Dougherty has written a number of technical papers and one book chapter. He has taught several courses including beamforming, nacelle acoustic propagation, and acoustics. He has conducted research programs for several agencies. In 2013 he invented "Functional Beamforming". He has four patents.
Dr. Dougherty is an ASSOCIATE FELLOW in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Dennis L. Huff - Board of Directors
Dennis L. Huff is a retired Research Aerospace Engineer from the Acoustics Branch at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field in Cleveland, Ohio. He retired in June 2021 after serving 36 years with NASA. Huff was Deputy Chief of the Aeropropulsion Division and Chief of the Acoustics Branch, and led teams from NASA, industry, and universities to develop engine-noisereduction technologies. Projects included chevron nozzles and swept/leaned stators that have been proven to reduce jet and fan noise and are being implemented by industry.

Kenneth S. Brentner - Board of Directors
Professor Brentner has been a faculty member for the past 16 years in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. His research interests focus on rotorcraft and aircraft aeroacoustics, computational aeroacoustics, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, and high performance computing. Professor Brentner and his research team has developed the rotorcraft noise prediction code PSU-WOPWOP which is able to predict noise from a rotorcraft with multiple rotors in both steady and maneuvering flight. In recent work, they have demonstrated that real-time prediction of rotorcraft noise with first principle methods is feasible. Prior to joining Penn State, Professor Brentner was a Senior Research Engineer at the NASA Langley Research Center for 17 years.
Professor Brentner has a B. S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University, a M.S. degree in Aeronautics from The George Washington University, JIAFS, and a Ph.D. degree in Acoustics from the University in Cambridge, England. He has authored or coauthored over 135 technical publications, and is the recipient of numerous awards. Professor Brentner is an Associate Fellow of the AIAA and a past Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Helicopter Society.
